Some images of Sir George and Aurelia Young and their family.

(Left) On the balcony of the family home in Cookham, before the arrival of Daughter No 2. The children all went to the local Primary School, Holy Trinity, Cookham; and they all attended the local comprehensive school - Furze Platt in Maidenhead. Son Hugo also spent some time at Millfield, where he won a cricket scholarship. Their land was badly hit by Dutch elm disease in the 1970's; they converted their boiler to burn wood, and for twelve years used no other form of energy for central heating and hot water.

The children inherited their father's
penchant for cycling, bicycling six miles
each day to and from secondary school.

in the constituency. Comprising about sixty small villages, as well as the towns of Tadley, Andover and Whitchurch, local fetes are a crucial way of keeping in touch with what is going on.
