Tadley
Tadley sits at the extreme Northern border of Hampshire. It has grown from a small village (part of which is now the conservation area of Old Tadley) into today's large township, linking the villages of Baughurst, Bramley, Monk Sherborne and Pamber. Brickmaking and brushmaking are former trades of the old village, recalled through names such as Kiln House and Broom Cottage. The Church of St Peter, which is of outstanding national importance (Grade I), dates mainly from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries but is of earlier origin - there was reference to a church at Tadley in 1286.

My picture, courtesy of David Sadler, shows the fine new library. Another recent development is the very popular indoor swimming pool, which includes a sauna, spa and Turkish room .
